Johannes Drinda
Allow me to introduce…
Johannes K. DRINDA, as the "WHISTLING PHILOSOPHER"!
For almost a quarter of a century Johannes made a living as a baker,
electronic technician, plumber and certified accountant etc. Yet, in non-of
these vocations he quite excelled as in his innate talent of whistling to
classical and popular music.
It was around the late
eighties that Johannes made the discovery of his life, the fact that he was
able to whistle better than most of us…
Equipment: Most of his
PA equipment Johannes built himself. It consisted of a ‘box on wheels’ powered
by a car battery; containing a 120W stereo amplifier with a dual tube
pre-amplifier, cassette player and a sophisticated howl-around stabilizer
(frequency shifter circuit) to eliminate feedback of the separately channeled
whistle speaker, some 6 meters away from the microphone on reverb.
Audiocassettes provided the background music to which Johannes added his
unique, artistic flavor. Every weekend (for 12 years) Johannes performed his
talent near the famous Sydney Opera House and often members of the Sydney
Symphonic Orchestra (SSO) were among his audience. During the week Johannes
performed at private festivities, on TV-Shows, movies, commercials, in social
clubs, even convalescence homes & hospitals.
Locals considered Johannes to be part of the ‘furniture’ of Circular Quay.
Any foreign film crew, narrating Sydney’s Attractions, felt compelled
to include Johannes into their itinerary.
So, it happened that many tourists from England, Europe & America
included Johannes in their ‘list of must see’, after watching him performing
on their TV at home.
This way Johannes made a living from selling ‘hot air’ on heaps of
audiocassettes/ CD and his philosophical books. Albeit he never made it to
riches, now enjoys a contented retirement… still reliving the many glorious
moment of sheer bliss, which the exchange of virtues with his audience brought
about while performing his talent and the many crucial instances he
experienced.
To abbreviate the long
story I suggest you have a look at his website: http://jdrinda.tripod.com
There you’ll find a number of Johannes’s carrier highlights even samples of his
unique style of whistling to music etc.
Last, not least…
apropos Live-Styler: Johannes actually applies Live-Styler accompaniment for
musical inspiration. So, if you are (like him) not that good at playing the
keyboard or another musical instrument… try whistling or singing. You’ll be
amazed how good it sounds with the Live-Styler accompaniment. Here’s your
chance to make your musical aspirations come true!
